The Powder Ladz
The Powder Ladz
Outside of the Prince’s Guild there are a few gangs as wealthy as the Powder Ladz. These successful bands of brigands cunningly spend their ill-gotten goods to upgrade their equipment, leading to further success. But what makes them truly dangerous are the various black powder firearms they purchase from the alchemists and smiths of the Scrap Guild.
The leaders of the Powder Ladz confer on themselves all manner of austacious titles. Big, brutish looking, they exude raw intimidation, and can back up their gruff demeanor with sheer violent intent as is true to their nature. Often referred to by their underlings as the “Shiny Boss”, they are ever eager to show off their status and success. Such displays allow them to attract new members to their gangs and seek greater plunder to add to their stashes of loot.
The minions that follow in the wake of the Shiny Boss like to aspire to their bosses example as best as their little dark hearts can manage. These “Polished Punks” are just as reckless in battle and capable of settling arguments with the rude end of their axes. There is some inner gang rivalry between Polished Punks and the Powder Ladz, as not everyone is well off enough to afford their own bangers. So the Polished Punks put on airs as often as able to show up their lucky cousins.
True to their namesake, the Powder Ladz live a life full of explosions and powder burns. Other Orcs look on in jealousy at the coveted, glorious, and sometime brutally short lives of these strutting goons. Having achieved ultimate status amongst their peers, they have acquired proper firearms, and the Powder Lad must prove just how much better their banger is than all the other Ladz. As a result, this can often lead to too much blasting powder in an effort to produce the biggest “BANG!” and, not surprisingly, backfiring spectacularly.
The Powder Ladz spawning point provides Consul players and adventurers some of the most brutal enemies Super Dungeon has to offer. All of the Orcish minions are capable of Brutal Strike, a powerful key word that adds +3 to the offensive rolls of any successful hit. This has the knock on ability to score critical hits. The downside, as they are at the same time Reckless, leaving themselves open to suffering wounds on a successful Critical defence roll. “Oops, he just fell on my sword!”.
Combine with that the Powder Ladz offensive capability and a 12 square range, it means that Heroes will need to employ more stealth and protection at range to cover their advance!
